The former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, has said the Nigeria’s electoral process is determine by the Court of Justice instead of the people’s decision at the polling station.

Prof. Gana stated this on Saturday while delivering a Convocation Lectures at the Federal University Wukari, in Taraba State.

He said, the Nigeria electoral process is face with difficulties of ensuring free, fair and credible elections.

Gana reiterated that democratic choice by the people is rapidly shifting to Court decisions, this Court decision according to him are replacing the people’s choice through free and fair elections.

He maintained that, for the survival of democracy in Nigeria, people most freely elect leaders who are competent, with good character, educated and most be men and women of courage that have capacity of bringing concrete development.

Prof. Gana stressed that, good leadership in every nation is a blessing to the society, adding that “leaders most have the wisdom in taking decision, leaders are not people who get lost, but have capacity, integrity, credibility and trustworthy”.

He disclosed that the University is a seat of thinkers, where lecturers and students used their brains to think creatively.

Gana said the power of creative thinking, as human mind has a huge intellectual power and capacity to think. He therefore appealed to University leadership to pave way for thinkers to think.
