NNPP members defect to APC in Bauchi

By ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –

The Campaign Coordinators of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Senator Haliru Jika, has defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) alongside his supporters in Misau Local Government Area of the state

Speaking while announcing their defection at a stakeholders’ meeting with the APC gubernatorial candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in Misau LGA, Makama Hamma, said their decision to dump the NNPP was because the party lacked the structure to win any election.

He said: “I left the NNPP with my deputy chairman, and members of his ward coordinators. We took that decision because we discovered that the NNPP is not the party that will guarantee us victory at the election.

“The NNPP has no structure and no leadership and among the members of the party, there are no prominent politicians in the state.

“We are now in support of the candidate of the APC, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, because he is the pilot of the poor that can take us out of this present hardship we are currently facing in Bauchi state.

“We promise to work towards ensuring the victory of the APC candidates in the 2023 general elections in the local government area.”

The State Chairman of the APC, Babayo Misau, who commended them for the “bold step” they took by joining the party, assured him that they would have a level playing ground in the party to operate.
