Nollywood veterans mourn death of Yoruba actor, “Baba Olofa Ina”

Some Nollywood veterans have described the late Adedeji Aderemi, popularly called “Baba Olofa Ina” as a pillar in the entertainment industry whose absence would be missed by all.

The veterans said this in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of preparations for the burial of the late artiste in Ede on Friday.

NAN reports that Aderemi died on Thursday at a hospital in Ile-Ife at the age of 73 years and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Toafeek Adewale , who is known as Digboluja said that the late Adedeji Aderemi, was a pillar in the entertainment industry that many actors looked up to.

Adewale said a vacuum has been left in the theatre and motion pictures practitioners association of Nigeria, which would be difficult to fill.

He said that the late actor contributed a lot to the entertainment industry particularly Yoruba movies with his unique qualities and character representation always laced with proverbs and adages.

Adewale said that the late veteran would be remembered by the people of Osun, especially indigenes of Ede, for the part he played in promoting the town on a global stage during his life time .

Also, Adewale Rasaq , popularly known as ” Sokoti” said the late Aderemi was always truthful and honest in his dealing with colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Rasaq said that the deceased never put money first and was always conscious of his reputation in his dealings with people.

He advised upcoming actors and others in the entertainment industry to emulate the good qualities of the late Aderemi.

Similarly, the TAMPAN chairman in Osun , Mr Marufudeen Lawal , said the deceased would be missed by his community and the entire Nollywood industry .

Lawal prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed veteran and also for God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. (NAN)
