The Osun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of two persons in an accident that occurred on Ikire-Ibadan expressway on Thursday.
The Acting Sector Commander, Mrs Medinat Akanbi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo that the accident resulted from speeding.
She said that 17 persons were in the bus comprising 10 females and seven males.
“We were able to rescue 15 passengers with severe injuries and they were all taken to an undisclosed hospitals.
“Some items recovered from the accident scene have been taken to the Nigeria Police Force, Ikire,” Akanbi said.
She advised motorists to always use good tyres and avoid speeding to minimise crashes.
“The command will not hesitate to deal with road users not ready to adhere to safety ordinances on highways,” she said. (NAN)
