Sen. Umaru Al-Makura (APC-Nasarawa South) has provided five truckloads of fertilisers for farmers in the five Local Government Areas of the senatorial district.
This is contained in a statement issued in Lafia on Sunday by his media aide, Mr Danjuma Joseph.
Joseph stated that the senator also gave N1 million as logistics fund to distribute the fertilisers from the local government headquarters to the wards.
He stated also that the fertilisers were donated to the farmers to boost agricultural production in the senatorial district.
Danjuma added that Dr Hashimu Abdullahi, a close associate of the senator presented the fertilisers to the farmers on behalf of the lawmaker.
The senator warned against diversion of the fertilisers and urged the local government liaison officials to ensure that they got to targeted beneficiaries.
He assured that he would continue to give priority attention to the needs of his constituents to ensure effective representation at the National Assembly.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the five benefiting local government areas in the senatorial district are Awe, Doma, Keana, Obi and Lafia. (NAN)
