President General, Tiv Youths Organisation (TYO), Mr. Aondongu Anza has called for adequate measures to check the influx of violent herdsmen and other criminals and how to stop them from causing mayhem on the Tiv communities in Benue State.

Mr. Anza, who made the call in an exclusive interview with NATIONAL ACCORD in Makurdi on Friday, said collaborating with the government, churches and the traditional councils would achieve the desired objective.

The President General informed that the violent herdsmen were coming to the Benue State in their numbers and adequate measures have to be in place to check their excesses to enable the people sleep with both eyes closed.

Mr. Anza noted with confidence that with the collaboration of the state government, Tiv traditional council and the church, the fight against violent attacks on the people would be defeated and the people would go about with their normal activities without problems.

The youths leader, who insisted that youths in the various communities in Tiv nation and beyond should protect their communities, expressed the belief that if they all come together in their various communities to protect them, no one would come to attack them peacefully and go, no matter the strength of the attackers.

He appealed to the political class not to allow politics to divide them as he explained that issues that affect the nation should not be mixed with political issues so as to avoid division and as well generate bad blood.

While describing the violence in Sankera axis of Benue State as laughable and a display of irresponsibility, the Tiv youths leader lamented that the axis was a center of attraction particularly with its fertile land but today churches, schools, markets are dying and if not checked it would continue to worsen.

Anza while suing for unity among the youths, stressed that unity is strength and when the youths come together there is nothing they would not achieve both for themselves and the commu
