UNIMAID ASUU suspends exams over non payment of salaries

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) branch has scheduled a one-day suspension of examinations for Tuesday, 22nd November, 2022 to protest against the non-payment of outstanding salaries and half payment of October salary.

The Registrar, UNIMAID, Ahmad A. Lawan announced the postponement of examinations in a letter dated 18th November 2022 with reference No. R/ADM. 10/Vol. XII.

The letter read in quote: “This is to inform all staff and students that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Maiduguri branch has scheduled a one-day suspension of examinations for Tuesday, 22nd November, 2022 to protest against the non-payment of outstanding salaries and half payment of October salary.

“All staff and students are hereby notified that examinations slated for the 22nd November, 2022 are to be conducted at the end of respective departments’ examination schedules.

“All Deans and Heads of Departments are therefore kindly requested to note the above and make adequate arrangements to conduct the examinations as it affects their Faculties/Departments, please,” the statement added.
