You are an inspiration to Nigerians, Benue PDP Senator tells Zulum

A PDP chieftain, Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial district has described the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, as an inspiration whose exemplary leadership has made Nigerians to wish for more leaders like him.


Senator Moro spoke on Wednesday in Maiduguri when the Senate Committee on Army, which he is part of, visited the Government House in Maiduguri, while in Borno to assess activities of the the army and security situation.


NATIONAL ACCORD reports that The Senate committee on Nigerian Army was led by its Chairman, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume.


Speaking during the visit, Sen. Moro said: “For those of us in struggle, you (Governor Zulum) are an inspiration. And as a silent admirer of your leadership, it is an understatement to say that you are leading by example. Aside me, I know that many Nigerians admire you, because the bane of our society today is how to harness and manage the resources at our disposal for the benefits of the greatest number of the Nigerian people”.


“If there is one leader that Nigerians would mention who has assumed position and refused to be overwhelmed by challenges of that position, it is you (Zulum). By your exemplary leadership, Nigerians wish that we have more of you in Nigeria today”, Senator Abba Moro said. 

The senator commended him for supporting the army to the extent that commanding officers publicly acknowledge that they get much support without asking the governor.

In his remark, Governor Zulum thanked the Senate Committee for their visit and appealed to the lawmakers to impress on the Nigeria Army to strengthen its capacity and operations against the new entrance of ISWAP in the state and region while Boko Haram terrorists are voluntarily surrendering.

Zulum also urged the military to intensify its efforts in opening Damboa Road , Malam Fatori, Abadam and Kukawa axis which is still being controlled by Boko Haram.

He explained that his government plans to resettle all the IDPs along the axis in order for them to start a new life even with or without livelihoods support with available security.

The governor further commended the NA for its sacrifices and efforts in restoration of peace in many parts of the state compare to the past , noting that the Army’s operations have been very vital and benefiting to communities in the restoration process.
