Zulum commissions women skills acquisition center in Borno

The skills acquisition center was named after Governor Babagana Zulum.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has commissioned Bura Women Development Association in Marama town of Hawul Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Zulum also witnessed the graduation ceremony ‘of first set of beneficiaries of the Bura Women Development Association Skills Acquisition Center, Marama, Hawul LGA which was commissioned in 2020 by the governor.

Represented by Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, Hon Commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the governor thanked BUWDA for initiating such project which has very far reaching effects on the vulnerable in the society ,especially ,the girl child.

He further pledged to continue to support the efforts of the association.

In her remark, the President of BUWDA, Mrs Asta Paul Thahal, paid special tribute to Governor Zulum for supporting the association to complete the project.

She said: “His support has tremendously led to the successful completion of the center and today we are celebrating the fruits of this intervention, we are indeed most grateful”, Aisha said.

The women association as a sign of honour and gratitude, presented an award of appreciation to the governor and also named the skills acquisition center after Governor Zulum.

74 beneficiaries were trained in Computer Literacy, Tailoring, Knitting and Catering skills

Meanwhile, the governor on Sunday, had visited and inspected ongoing construction work at the New Bama Road Modern Market, which has reached almost 70% completion and hopeful billed for commissioning in the first quarter of 2023.
