Zulum flags off distribution of empowerment facilities for Borno Central constituents

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has flagged off the distribution of empowerment equipment to nstituents of Borno Central Senatorial District, which were procured and donated by Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan,.

He commended Senator Lawan for such gesture at this critical period of economic hardship while urging people to continue to support him stressing that, ” it is not easy to serve the large number of people of Borno Central Senatorial District due to the large size.

The governor who stated this on on Monday while flagging of the distribution of the items at the Multi purpose hall of the Government House Maiduguri.

He added that: “governance or leadership is not an easy task. As such, people should be patient with the political office holders and bear with them in terms of provision of welfare, empowerment and poverty alleviation materials and other means of livelihood support to the constituents .”

Speaking at the occasion, Senator Lawan expressed his profound appreciation to the governor and leaders of the ruling party in the state and at the national levels as well as the LGAs, while urging the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items given to them to alleviate their sufferings and hardships .

He also promised to continue to serve them better and assured those who did not benefit in the first batch of the exercise to be patient as they will benefit in future in the subsequent distribution exercise.

A total of 9,729 beneficiaries were drawn from the 8 LGAs of the Borno Central Senatorial District, namely, MMC Jere , Konduga , Mafa , Dikwa Bama, Kala Balge and Ngala LGAs with beneficiaries cutting across party leaders youths, women, community leaders , vigilante CJTF and hunters.

The items donated include 20 BAJAJ RE Keke NAPEP tricycles, 100 grinding machines 120 Two Lion sewing machines, 20 SV5200 portal generators, 250 Skyrun. BD 300 HNW chest freezers, 250 Knapsack 16L sprayers and 150 SUMEC WP 20X water pumps .

Highlights of the event include photographs, and symbolic distribution of the items among others.
