The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Kola Abiola, has said that he would deal decisively with secessionists if elected Nigerian president.
Abiola stated this at a presidential parley, organised by the South-West Development Stakeholders Forum (SWDSF) on Tuesday in Ibadan.
According to him, the actions of the secessionists were unconstitutional and amounted to treason.
“I will not accept any action that would threaten the unity of Nigeria if elected, but my administration would encourage them if only it would not affect the unity of Nigeria,” he said.
He added that PRP has been in existence for many years and remained the party that believes in true federalism.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the SWDSF is made up of civil society organisations, professionals and religious leaders.
The interactive parley with presidential candidates of major political parties is running on Jan. 17 and 18, 2023, in Ibadan, Oyo State. (NAN)
