Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo
Foremost South-East group, Igbo Think Tank, Aka Ikenga, has described the late President-General Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu ,as a leader that radiates love and simplicity effortlessly.
The group’s Director of Publicity, Mr Collins Ugwu, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday, said that Nigerians ,especially Ndigbo ,had lost a rare gem with the death of Iwuanyanwu.
NAN reports that Iwuanyanwu, also a politician, sports enthusiast and media mogul, died on Thursday ,aged 82 after a brief illness.
Reacting to Iwuanyanwu’s demise, Ugwu, said Ohanaeze Ndigbo had been robbed of a leader with class , clout, charm and charisma.
He said Iwanyanwu acquitted himself well as champion of the cause of Ndigbo.
“His various persona as a certified engineer of the highest pedigree, a politician of boundless breath and a business man of immense wealth, saw him become eventually the leader of Ndigbo nationality world wide as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
“In a time of deep introspection like this, the energy is cold, and the enthusiasm absent to start discussing this giant Iroko, the Ahaejiagamba of Igboland in past tense.
“I honestly wish hat this news turned out a hoax . Be that as it has become, Chief Iwuanyanwu’s towering zeal as a sanctuary for Ndigbo cohesion is unrivaled and explicit.
“I am certain, his biggest denial of living peace must be the non release of his son Nnamdi Kalu to him as begged, requested, and endlessly championed everywhere, every time.
“Therefore, Ndigbo elders have lost a rare stock, and the youths denied a transformative inspiration,” Ugwu said.
He prayed for peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and asked God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. (NAN)
