In response to the recent devastating flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State, stakeholders from the state, including members of the National Assembly, have come together to donate N552 million to support the affected victims.
The flood, triggered by heavy rainfalls and overflow from Alau Dam, has displaced thousands of residents and destroyed numerous homes, farmland, and infrastructural facilities.
The donation was announced in a joint press statement issued by Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori, APC Deputy National Chairman (North), and made available to journalists on Sunday evening.
The donors include prominent individuals such as Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and Hon. Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori, among others.
The State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has expressed his gratitude to the donors and called for further support from other stakeholders, including the private sector and international organizations, to help alleviate the suffering of the flood victims.
