
First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu

Senator Remi Tinubu, wife of President Tinubu, has distributed the sum of 50 million naira cash and wrappers to 250 elderly citizen during the 2nd face of Renewed Hope Initiative in Nasarawa State.
The Nigerian First Lady, representedat at the occasion by Nasarawa State commissioner for women affairs, Hajiya Aisha Rufia, said the programme is designed to support the welfare of the elderly citizens annually.
“The Governing Board of the Renewed Hope Initiative has decided to increase the grant from N100,000 to N200,000 naira this year to provide further support to our elderly citizens during this festive period”
“A total of One Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira (N1,900,000,000) will be disbursed across the nation. The RHI Coordinators in the 36 states of the federation, the FCT and DEPOWA received Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000) of which N200,000 will be distributed to each beneficiary. In addition to this, free medical check-ups and other sundry items will be provided” she disclosed.
Senator Remi Tinubu’, commended all the State First Ladies/RHI State Coordinators and partners for their efforts in making this day a reality.
The first lady further congratulated the senior citizens who have been selected as beneficiaries. Urging them to remember to prioritise their health even as they all enjoy and celebrate in the festive season.
“Eat well, stay hydrated, do little exercise — like walking and getting adequate rest. Spend quality time with loved ones, and do what you enjoy and makes you happy”, She added.
Speaking earlier, wife of the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Mrs. Tosin Akabe, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the money well in this festive period, as she advised them not allow their children or grand children to take away the money.
In her remarks, the wife of Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, appreciated the President’s wife for the gesture given to better the lives of the elderly people in the state.
Some Beneficiaries, Fatima Hamza, Sa’adatu Usman and Hamza Moyi appreciate the Nigeria first lady, and Nasarawa State first lady for this wonderful gesture, prayed to God to continue to bless them and pray for it sustenance.
