Kenyan-Nigerian comedy-drama 1 Woman 1 Bra is poised to make its global debut at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, running from August 27 to September 6, 2025, at Venice Lido, Italy.
Producer Josh Olaoluwa shared the milestone on his verified Instagram account (@josh_olaolu), stating, “It’s official! We’re thrilled to announce the world premiere of 1 Woman 1 Bra at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.”
He expressed gratitude for the achievement, noting, “I thank God for making this possible and showing me that all things are achievable through His strength.”
Directed and written by Kenyan filmmaker Vincho Nchogu, the film marks a historic first collaboration between Kenya and Nigeria.
Olaoluwa praised Nchogu’s dedication, saying, “To my writer/director @ms.vincho, we did it! Your tireless work has brought 1 Woman 1 Bra to the world stage.” He also acknowledged the cast, crew, and the Loita community, adding, “Thank you for welcoming us with open hearts. We can’t wait to share this film with you.”
Filmed entirely in Kenya by celebrated cinematographer Muhammad Ahmed, the movie features a talented ensemble, including Sarah Karei, Norng’aruani Kipuker, Amos Leuka, Irungu Mutu, and Davina Leonard.
The story weaves humor, drama, and cultural depth, following a woman’s heartfelt and comedic quest to find the perfect bra while rediscovering her identity within her community.
Selected as one of four global projects for a €200,000 production grant from the Biennale College Cinema 2024/2025 program, 1 Woman 1 Bra stands out for its unique narrative and cross-cultural collaboration.
The Venice International Film Festival, recognized as the world’s oldest and among the “Big Five” global film festivals, will be led by jury president Alexander Payne, with Italian actress Emanuela Fanelli hosting the opening and closing ceremonies.
