Real Madrid star, Vinicius celebrating his goal against Atletico Madrid
It was a busy night, start to finish.
Real Madrid beat Atlético Madrid 3-2, but it never really felt under control. Even late on, it was still open.
Atlético scored first. Ademola Lookman got it in the 32nd minute after a quick move. Madrid were behind and had to respond.
They did after the break.
Vinícius Júnior made it 1-1 from the penalty spot. Then Federico Valverde scored in the 55th minute to put Madrid ahead.
Atlético came back again. Nahuel Molina scored in the 66th minute to make it 2-2.
Then Vinícius got his second in the 72nd minute. That turned out to be the winner.
There was still more to deal with.
Valverde was sent off late in the game, so Madrid had to finish with ten men. Atlético pushed forward after that, but couldn’t find another goal.
In the end, Madrid held on and took the points.
Atlético will feel this one. They came back twice but still lost.
