
Nigeria's Minister of Health, Dr. Ehanire
A Non-Governmental Organization, Abuja Metropolitan Lion’s Club has donated a twenty-bed Pediatric Cancer Complex to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, (UATH) Gwagwalada.
At the event, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire said the present administration would give unhindered access to cancer treatment in the country.
The Minister also noted that UATH Gwagwalada has one of the most active cancer registries in Nigeria and has been a reliable source of data for national planning and policy direction.
He added that the Ministry approved the deployment of one apheresis machine to the hospital for single donor blood product processing.
The Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Professor Bissallah Ekele who commended the NGO for the gesture called for the establishment of a Radiotherapy Unit for effective service delivery.
