Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and improve the country’s response to terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other emerging security threats.
The renewed commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedo, to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Onyechi Appolonia Anele, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, Colonel Anele said the complexity of today’s security environment demands stronger cooperation among security and intelligence agencies.
She stressed that sustained intelligence sharing, effective operational coordination, strategic communication and institutional support remain critical to addressing the nation’s evolving security challenges.
She also congratulated CSP Iniedo on his appointment and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s resolve to deepen its partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy of transforming the Army into a more professional, adaptive, combat ready and resilient force capable of operating effectively within a joint and multi agency framework.
According to her, stronger collaboration between the two institutions will reinforce ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities while further boosting public confidence in Nigeria’s security architecture.
Responding, CSP Iniedo commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, sacrifices and operational achievements in joint operations across the country, noting that the longstanding partnership between the Army and the Police has continued to strengthen internal security.
He also called for closer cooperation between the public relations departments of both organisations, saying improved strategic communication would help counter misinformation, promote accurate information and project a united national security narrative.
The meeting ended with both the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force reaffirming their shared commitment to sustaining inter agency collaboration in support of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve security and protect lives and property across the country.
