Bandits kidnap the mother of Niger State’s lawmaker

Armed gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the mother of of a member representing Agwara constituency at the Niger State House of Assembly, Barr Bello Agwara.

The incident occurred yesterday when armed bandits in their large number stormed Mago village while Muslims were breaking their fast and started shooting sporadically to scare the villagers.

Few minutes after the shootings they abducted her and disappeared to the forest in anticipation for payment of ransom.

When contacted, Barrister Agwara, who was highly disturbed, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He, however, said they were yet to hear anything from the gunmen.
