The National President, Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Hon. Kingsley Chikezie, has called on members to consolidate on their position as agents of economic development of the country.
Hon. Chikezie, stated this during a general meeting of IMAN recently, in Abuja.
He noted that the Motto of the association “National Growth Through Commerce, should be seen by members as a call to national duty.
The national president then urged “IMAN members to make integrity their watch word”, saying a Board of Trustees (BOT), member of the association Obong Patrick Udoh, “is a shinning example” in this regard.
In a interview with journalists on the sideline of the meeting, Hon. Chikezie, assured that IMAN Special Taskforce is more than ever committed to among other things stopping importion of contraband goods into the country.
He stated that Importers Association of Nigeria is working interndem with “both local and international stakeholders” with a view to achieving the mandate of the taskforce.
Beside, he expressed satisfaction over the impressive turnout of members during the meeting, and urged them to share the knowledge gained with members in local chapters across Nigeria.
In a remark at the event, frontline member of the association, DIG Sani Mohammed (retired), pledged his unrelenting support and that of other leaders of IMAN to move the association to greater height.
