
Professor Adam Abba-Aji

A Borno indigene, who is serving as CMD in Canada’s prominent hospital, Prof. Abba Aji, has donated the sum of 75 million naira to flood victims in Maiduguri, the state capital.
Professor Adam Abba-Aji’s humanitarian delegation from Canada visited Government House Maiduguri, bringing donations valued at N75m and a proposal to construct 50 housing units for flood-displaced individuals, pending Canadian Government assistance.
Professor Aji is a psychiatrist for young adults and a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK, a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Fellow of the American Psychiatrists Association and the Royal Society of Medicine.
His has research focus on the trajectories of mental illness among young adults, early psychosis, mood disorders, and mental health service development.
He has Doctorate University College Dublin (July 2007 – May 2009), Masters University of Maastricht ( Jul 2005 – Apr 2007)
Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Canada was established in 1923, It has trained thousands of Doctors in almost a century.

In his response, Governor Babagana Zulum appreciated the gesture and promises to ensure judicious use of the financial support to the victims of the flood disaster while assuring adequate land provision for the construction of 05 housing estates for the victims of the flood incident.
Zulum commended Professor Ajis’ delegation and donation to the victims of the flood while acknowledging the humanitarian support of the distinguished Professor who is an indigne of Borno State living in Canada.
