Ex-military administrator of Enugu State, J.S Anga dies at 83

A former Military Administrator of Enugu State and retired Commissioner of Police, Mr J.S Anga, has died at the age of 83 years.
A family source said Mr Jatau Salami Anga, died on Tuesday, after a protracted illness at his residence in Bukuru, near Jos.
J.S Anga, who hails from Nasarawa State, was the former military governor of Enugu State, and until his death, he was the Galadiman Eggon and chairman of Eggon council of elders.
A son of the elder statesman, Paul Anga, who confirmed his father’s death, said “he was commissioner of police in 1992 and later became the military governor of Enugu State, from 1993 to 1994”.
Meanwhile, President of Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Mr David Mandy Abuluya, has described the death of the former military governor as a great loss to the state and Nigeria at large.
Abuluya, said the late J.S. Anga, was a generous man, who gave police jobs to many people and his patriotism as a Police officer and dedication to duty would always be remembered.
“J.S Anga’s contribution to our nation, particularly during his tenure as the Police commissioner and military governor, will always be remembered.
“His dedication and service to the people will forever be cherished. His demise is a great loss to the entire country” he said.
