Fire destroys FRCN-Gold FM property worth N50m

Property worth over N50 million was lost in the fire which gutted Radio Nigeria Gold FM in Ilesa on Sunday, the Federal Fire Service Chief, Mr Kehinde Fatukasi, has said.

Fatukasi, the Chief Superintendent, Federal Fire Service Training School, Ilesa, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday, in Ilesa.

He said that the inferno, which badly affected the transmitting room, was caused by electrical surge.

The fire service chief said that property worth over N200 million was saved by personnel of the service from the inferno.

He said that no life was lost in the incident.

When NAN sought comments from the management and staff of the radio station, no official was willing to speak on Monday.

The Gold FM office was similarly gutted by fire in February 2018. (NAN)
