President of West Africa Paravolley Development Commission, Jackson Imandi
Paravolley Africa has appointed Jackson Imandi as President of its West Africa Development Commission.
His appointment was confirmed in a letter dated November 5, 2025, and signed by the organisation’s Director of Development, Robinson Tumwesigye.
According to the letter, the decision followed a careful review of Imandi’s contribution to volleyball development in Nigeria and the subregion.
Part of the letter read: “Your appointment was a well-thought-out and researched decision, standing on firmness and assurances of your works and support towards the steady and continued growth of volleyball.”
Tumwesigye also stated that the commission expects Imandi to drive growth across key adaptive volleyball categories, adding:
“It is therefore prudent and right to have you steward the commission to oversee sitting volleyball, beach paravolley and standing volleyball disciplines, and help them grow in Nigeria and West Africa.”
Reacting to the announcement, Imandi described the role as “a great honour,” noting that he was accepting the responsibility with humility. He pledged to work towards achieving the mandate of the office.
Imandi has been active in volleyball development for years. He is a former player for the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Armed Forces, served as chairman of the FCT Volleyball Association, and was a member of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation’s technical committee. He is also the immediate past president of the Volleyball Players Association of Nigeria.
Currently, he serves as chairman of Defence Spikers Volleyball Club at Mogadishu Cantonment. The club recently won the 2025 National Division One League.
His appointment is for a four-year tenure, effective from the date of the letter.
