Manchester City reignited the Premier League title race with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
After a sluggish first half, Pep Guardiola’s side exploded after the break as Nico O’Reilly and Marc Guehi struck within six minutes to seize control.
Jeremy Doku later capitalised on a costly defensive error to seal the win and ensure City took advantage of Arsenal’s surprise 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.
The result leaves City six points behind the league leaders with a game in hand ahead of a crucial April 19 showdown at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea, meanwhile, continued their poor run under Liam Rosenior, suffering a third straight defeat and slipping further in the race for Champions League qualification.
Rayan Cherki
played a decisive role, delivering the assist for O’Reilly before setting up Guehi with a superb through pass.
With momentum building and Arsenal wobbling, Guardiola’s side now head into a potential title-defining clash against Mikel Arteta’s team brimming with confidence.
