Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 43 year old Housewife, Bisola Awodele for allegedly pouring hot water on her husband over drunkenness.
The suspect was apprehended after the husband, Peter Phillips had reported the incident at Sango Ota Area Command that his wife poured hot water on his body for being being drunk.
In a statement, The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, said the suspect, a mother of five have been arrested.
Mr Oyeyemi said the suspect accused her husband of failing to contribute to her welfare and that of the children.
The command’s spokesman said the suspect had out of frustration allegedly killed and buried their baby, she had about eight months ago.
He maintained that the suspect had led the policemen to where the baby was buried and the body was exhumed while the husband was taken to General Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
