Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has placed the welfare of pilgrims at the centre of his administration’s priorities, with a firm commitment to ensuring a safe, comfortable and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for intending pilgrims from Kaduna State.
The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, stated this during the flag-off of the Public Enlightenment Programme, popularly known as BITA, held at the Kinkinau Qur’anic Recitation Centre as part of preparations for a hitch-free 2026 Hajj operations.
Represented by the Administrative Secretary of the Agency, Malam Baba Rufa’i, the Chairman described the BITA programme as a critical pillar of the Agency’s Hajj preparations, aimed at educating, informing and properly guiding intending pilgrims ahead of the sacred journey to the Holy Land.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Ibrahim Datti Makarfi, quoted the Chairman as urging intending pilgrims to take the enlightenment programme seriously by actively participating, asking relevant questions and strictly adhering to all laid-down guidelines.
According to the statement, Malam Salihu also commended Islamic scholars, facilitators, media partners and other stakeholders for their sustained cooperation and support towards ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
The enlightenment programme, he explained, covered key aspects of the pilgrimage, including Hajj rites and obligations, health and safety measures, Saudi Arabian laws and regulations, discipline, patience and good conduct, as well as the importance of unity and cooperation among pilgrims.
Speaking further at the event, the Chairman lauded Governor Uba Sani for the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando, describing the project as a major milestone in the administration’s efforts to enhance pilgrims’ welfare.
He assured that the project would be completed ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, adding that the revamped camp is expected to feature modern-standard facilities, decent accommodation with improved sanitation, as well as enhanced medical and welfare services.
Malam Salihu further commended the Governor for his unwavering support, visionary leadership and sustained commitment to the welfare of pilgrims, noting that these qualities reflect a people-centred and compassionate leadership style.
