The presidency has made a humorous effort to lighten the mood of Nigerians experiencing tough times following the deplorable state of security in the country.
A presidential media aide, Lauretta Onochie, on Monday, shared a photo-shopped video of the president singing a popular song by the late renowned Reggae star, Bob Marley.
Ms. Onochie advised fellow citizens that although the country is going through serious ordeals, President Muhammadu Buhari has already started to fix the many problems through his nation-building initiatives.
She recalled that late Chinua Achebe had earlier written a book titled: “There was a Country”, noting that nothing new comes easy.
Her words: “There was a nation” is a book written by the iconic Chinua Achebe who passed away in 2013″.
“Along came the Fixer, @MBuhari, who has started the serious task of building a nation from the scratch”.
“Nothing new is easy challenges abound. Enjoy this tune by the legendary Bob Marley.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to the presidential media aide’s post on Twitter.
A tweep, @apro_dawilcat said: “Who dey breeeeeetttt.” Another subscriber, @thismalip, asked:
“Ma, can you open your replies so we appreciate him for “fixing” the nation?
“If you won’t, can you point me to three projects he has fixed in his last 6 years as a chief fixer?”
@stan_leey believes that this can be allowed since there will always be something for people to worry about.
He reacted in pidgin: “Worry no dey finish.”
A rather infuriated citizen, @am_Maximum, believes that the presidency is taking the issues of Nigerians lightly.
He said: “This people dey use us catch cruise.”.
