Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal
Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of worsening insecurity, deepening poverty, and increasing hunger across Nigeria, declaring that the current government has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
Tambuwal, who spoke on Saturday at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Sokoto State Congress held in Sokoto, addressed a large crowd of party supporters and stakeholders, where he delivered a scathing assessment of the federal government’s performance.
According to him, Nigerians are already experiencing the realities of the Tinubu administration.
“I am of firm believe that Nigerians have seen for themselves what Bola Ahmed Tinubu can deliver, if at all they have been able to deliver anything.
“But available reality shows that this administration has only been able to deliver much more insecurity, poverty, and hunger.
“This is in addition to the gross mismanagement and diversion of public resources as well as securing of more loans which undoubtedly will be deployed during the 2027 elections to influence voters”.
Tambuwal, further, lamented the economic hardship facing Nigerians, noting that unemployment and poverty have worsened under the present administration.
He added that most Nigerians would reject what he described as continued misgovernance.
He also framed the 2027 general elections as a contest between the Nigerian people and the ruling establishment, stating that citizens must prepare to demand better governance.
While addressing local issues, Tambuwal did not spare the Sokoto State Government, accusing it of failing to meet the expectations of residents and deliver meaningful development.

Speaking on strategies for victory ahead of 2027, Tambuwal urged ADC members to intensify grassroots mobilization, expand membership registration, and maintain unity within the party.
“Nigerians have seen how the federal government has been desperate in their attempt to suppress opposition, but we are standing firm, no shaking, no surrender, no retreat. Nigerians must come out to rescue their country from the bad governance of the APC come 2027”.
Meanwhile, the Sokoto State ADC Congress, conducted through consensus and voice affirmation, produced new state executives for the party.
Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu emerged as State Chairman, while Alhaji Bello Isiaku Meagan was elected Deputy Chairman, and Kabiru Sarkin Fulani emerged as State Secretary.
Other executives include Kabiru Hali as Vice Chairman (Central), Abdullahi Bafarawa as Vice Chairman (Sokoto East), and Sadiq Sayyina as Vice Chairman (Sokoto South), among several others.
Party leaders expressed optimism that the new executive would strengthen the ADC’s structure and position the party for stronger political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
