Taraba LG Poll: TSIEC trains electoral officers, introduces customize ballot papers

Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) has trained Electoral Officers (EO’s) and Assistant Electoral Officers (AEO’s) in preparation for the forthcoming Taraba State Local Government Councils Elections.

The Commission also noted that it would be introducing customize ballot papers and boxes for the election.

The Executive Chairman of the commission Dr Philip Danladi disclosed this during the last day of the training workshop organized for Electoral officials in a bid to conduct free and credible elections in 16 Local Government Councils across the state.

Dr. Danladi cautioned the EO’s to maintained integrity and respect during and after elections, as they are critical stakeholders, therefore, they should guide and be neutral from elections system.

He said the election sensitive materials are to arrive soon, and they are customize in various areas of concern, within the three senatorial districts with their different inscriptions and colors to avoid any irregularities during the election.

Danladi advised the EOs to embarked on self development and capacity building, recruit and train adhoc staff that are qualified, who can read and write, capable of conducting and coordinating elections.

He reiterated that elections is a process and collaborations, as well as team work to determine the success of the commission through quality leadership and management system.

“The commission is ready for conducting elections on 18th November, 2023”, Danladi said.
