Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed
The Bauchi State Government on Friday says the 2,500 housing units project has reached 98 per cent completion stage and would soon be delivered.
Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Alhaji Hamisu Shira, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Bauchi.
Alhaji Shira said the project was designed to provide decent accommodation to address housing deficit in the state, adding that the houses would be sale at affordable prices to individuals and groups.
He tasked contractors to hasten completion of the project, adding that the state government had issued a two-week ultimatum within which to complete the work or risk revocation.
“After revoking the contract we will re-award it to competent firms who could complete the work within the time frame” he said.
According to him, construction work of the 2,500 houses is currently ongoing across the 20 local government areas of the state. (NAN)
