About 2,500 corps members deployed to Nasarawa State for their National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) have taken their oaths of allegiance and sworn in at the scheme permanent orientation camp.
The corps members, who are set of 2022 Batch B stream I, took their oaths of allegiance during the swearing-in ceremony at Magaj Dan Yamusa Permanent Orientation Camp, in Keffi LGA of Nasarawa State.
The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu, who was represented by Justice Abdulahi Ali Uzige, administered the oaths of allegiance on the corps members.
Justice Aisha charged the corps members to take activities at camp seriously and commended them for graduating from their various institutions of higher learning.
Speaking at the event, the Nasarawa State Coordinator of NYSC, Abdulahi Jikamshi, urged the corps members to take special interest in the skills acquisition programmes provided for them on camp, so that they will be useful to the society as there are no white collar jobs readily available in the country.
Mr. Jikamshi advised the corp members to shun all forms of social vices such as cultism, spooking and taking of hard drugs.
He also warned them against the use of social media to spread fake news in the country.
Some of the corps members including Pricella Nagarta and Onyivuchi Daniel both expressed happiness for the opportunity given to them by the Federal Government to serve their father’s land.
They promised to be of good behavior and utilise the period to acquire skills and knowledge that will help them in their life endeavors
