Police parade 76 suspects for kidnapping, robbery, other crimes in Borno

Borno State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 76 suspects for various crimes committed in the states for the past one month.

The state Police Commissioner, CP Abdu Umar, while briefing newsmen at the Police, Headquarters, Maiduguri, said the crimes committed include – criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, abduction/kidnappings, rape, possession of fire arms, forgery and theft.

CP Umar, reiterated his commitment to continue to apply technology in the fight against crime for maximum result.

“I assure the general public that we are operating a technological base policing as well as unrelenting efforts towards ensuring the protection of lives and properties, while maintaining law and order in the state.

“Therefore, all the activities of criminal merchants who are desperate to make living at the expense of the law abiding and hardworking people of the state would not be tolerated”, he added.

CP Umar further said ” it is glaring to note that within just a month of my arrival as the Commissioner of Police, the Command has made a breakthrough in the fight against Crimes and Criminality in the State”

He urged the public to provide timely and credible information to the police in order to achieve more positive results in the fight against crime in the state.
