
The newly elected executive members of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Cross River.

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), the umbrella body of registered political parties in Nigeria, on Friday elected the Cross River State’s Chairman of Labour Party, Ambassador Ogar Osim, the new Chairman of IPAC in the state.
Osim replaces Anthony Bissong Attah of YPP who had piloted the affairs of IPAC in the state for one year.
The election was held at INEC Secretariat in Calabar with 13 out of 18 political parties certified to vote for their choice of candidates.
At the end of the election, Ambassador Ogar Osim scored eight votes to beat the immediate past chairman, Anthony Bissong.
Other members of the new IPAC Executive included – Deputy Chairman – Patrick Agbor (ADC)State Secretary – Francis Ukpayang (ADP), Deputy Secretary – Mgbe Abang (AAC)Financial Secretary – Michael Ojisi (PDP) State Organizing Secretary – Chris Eyibio (ZLLegal Adviser – Dr. Innocent Ekwok ( NRM).
Before the commencement of the election, the IPAC National Legal Adviser, Barrister Julius Abure who presided as Chairman of the election committee said: “IPAC is one indivisible entity and whoever emerge at any level should be ready to work together with the National and State Officers.
” Therefore, it is a win-win situation and there should be no cause for crisis”, he said.
He advised all participants to exhibit high sense of responsibility, discipline and vote without any rancor; adding that the election shall be conducted free and fair in line with IPAC code and resolutions of the National Executive Council of the Body.
In his reaction, the new State Chairman, Ambassador Ogar Osim said ‘servant leadership and teamwork shall be the hallmark of leadership at IPAC.
He however thanked all his supporters for the mandate given to him to pilot the affairs of IPAC in Cross River State.
