Borno State Govenor Babagana Umara Zilum has flagged off a two day sensitisation workshop at the International Conference Hall in Maiduguri, themed:” promoting peace and national development through equitable distribution of socio-economic amenities and infrastructural facilities nationwide.”
The governor, who commended the efforts of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) towards the provision of necessary support to the MDAs and parastatals, called on them to give necessary attention to the Northeast as its well known fact that the insurgency has brought major set back to the region.
Governor Zulum stated this Thursday at the Council Chamber , Government House Maiduguri when he received a delegation from the Federal Character Commission on a courtesy visit at the Government House Maiduguri.
According to him, the state government has reinstated civil authority in all 27 LGAs and has ensured credible selection of permanent secretaries in vacant positions and assured that all necessary arrangements to ensure synergy with the necessary bodies is put in place for better service delivery.

Governor Zulum, further, announced that Borno State Government will soon lay a foundation to construct housing units to federal parastatals and MDAs operating in the state.
He said the state government will also hold an interactive meeting with all federal parastatals operating in the state with a view to create synergy for effective and purposeful administration.
Earlier , the Governor appreciated the commission for choosing Borno state as the center for Northeast to hold the workshop.

He also expressed his deepest gratitude for the visit and assured them of his government support.
On his part, The Chairperson, Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr. Muhibbat Dan Kaka has applauded Governor Zulum for being the first person to visit the commission when she assumed office.
She also stated that they were in the state for a sensitization workshop for stakeholders from the Northeast region.

In her welcome address at the workshop, the Chairperson, Dr.Muhibbat Dan kaka said that the core mandates of the FCC are equity, fairness and justice and as such the Commission decided to organize the workshop to sensitize all government parastatals and agencies on the objectives of the commission and rub minds on the possible ways the commission can key in to ensure proper administration and running of their agencies.
The workshop had its inaugural session first in Abuja for the north central and now the second phase in Borno for the Northeast.
Borno State was deliberately chosen to host the event to compliment the effort of the Governor and appreciate his resilience towards good governance.
