Against the backdrop of alleged destruction of life and properties in Akpabuyo LGA of Cross River State, The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on security agencies to stop what it called barbaric attacks on their members in the state.
The leader of the party in the area, Arthur Javis made the call during a press conference on Tuesday in Calabar.
He said: “We call this press conference to bring attention of the media and the public , the carnage and consistent attack on our members especially our supporters in Akpabuyo Local Government Council.
He said after the attack, the hoodlums armed with guns and other dangerous weapons move on and carried out an all night attack on residence and business premises of our party members.
Also Speaking the Senatorial candidate of PDP, Ekpo Okon, said “we made desperate calls to the police quick intervention team and nothing was done.
He started that the party brought these unwarranted attacks to the attention of the authorities by writing to the state police commissioner and AIG zone 6.
The Deputy Governorship candidate of PDP, Lady Amawhe Duke, while condemning the attacks, called on APC leaders in the state and Akpabuyo Local Government Council to stop what she called brigandage
