At least four persons have been killed following an gas explosion from a shop of a local welder in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Three other persons also sustained various degrees of injuries in the incident that occured on Sunday afternoon.
The Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, has confirmed the incident to newsmen in the state.
DSP Abubakar said the explosion is not connected to the security challenges bedevilling the area but was a result of an explosion from a cylinder in the shop of the local welder in the area.
He noted that the injured, who are in critical condition are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the state
