The Bauchi State Government has recorded significant achievements in finance and economic development.
Hon. Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Yakubu Adamu Ph.D., disclosed this on Thursday while presenting ministry’s scorecard from 2019-2024 at a press conference in Bauchi.
Hon. Adamu highlighted the achievements of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development from May 2019 to July 2024, including the procurement of official vehicles for government officials, renting of private houses for state and federal establishments, renovation of the Ministry’s headquarters, and sourcing of funds for critical projects.
He added that the board of Internal Revenue Service also recorded significant achievements, including the collection of N94.167 billion as internally generated revenue, implementation of the Treasury Single Account, and automation of revenue administration.
According to him, the Treasury Department also achieved significant milestones, including the timely production of financial statements, implementation of the Treasury Single Account, and full automation of treasury operations.
“The Debt Management Agency also recovered excess debt charges of N285.27 million and maintained a sustainable debt level.
“The Central Store Organization supplied uniforms and raincoats to government officials and renovated its premises”, he said.
The Commissioner noted that the achievements were made possible through the leadership of His Excellency, Sen. (Dr) Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State.
He however commended the Governor for his support and encouragement, which led to the achievements recorded by the Ministry and its agencies.
