
Barr. Deborah Aber Serumun, new Secretary to the Benue State Government.

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Barr. Deborah Aber Serumun, as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The appointment of the new SSG followed the resignation of the former SSG, Prof. Joseph Alakali.
Prof. Alakali, the immediate past SSG submitted his letter of resignation on Monday, explaining that he needed time to attend to his personal challenges.
Governor Alia who accepted the resignation appreciated Prof. Alakali for serving the state under his administration for a year and three months.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, said the governor wished the former SSG well even as he prayed that the Almighty grant him the strength to address the challenges for which he has chosen to resign.
To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Prof. Alakali. Governor Alia has approved Barr. Aber, a seasoned solicitor and arbitrator with a strong sense of initiative and excellent analytical skills to take over as the new SSG
The first female SSG according to the statement is a team player with good interpersonal skills, who always strives for excellence and aims to contribute positively to the success and growth.
The statement revealed that the new SSG always aspires to work in a reputable and challenging environment that encourages professionalism.
The first female SSG is a graduate of the University of Jos and Nasarawa State University, whom Governor Alia strongly believed her wealth of experience and trustworthy record of service would significantly add value to his government.
Governor Alia who charged her to be focused and align her work with the vision of the administration as outlined in the working document also tasked her to always prioritise the interests of the state in her daily official functions.
The statement insisted that the appointment takes immediate effect.
