President Bola Tinubu recently visited Borno State to show his support for the government, traditional institutions, and people affected by the recent flooding in the state.
During his visit, he promised to deliver democracy dividends and bring hope to the affected communities.
President Tinubu began his visit by meeting with the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Ibn El Kanemi, at his palace in Maiduguri.
He expressed his concern and sympathy for the people of Borno State, particularly those affected by the flooding.
The President also commended the Shehu and Governor Zulum for their exemplary leadership and resilience in the face of challenges.
After meeting with the Shehu, President Tinubu proceeded to the Government College Maiduguri camp, where he addressed internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the flood.
He sympathized with the families of those who lost their lives and pledged to support and assist the victims of the flood disaster.
In his remarks, President Tinubu appreciated the diversity and solidarity of Nigerians, and prayed for God’s protection and guidance. He also thanked Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, for his contributions to the state.
Governor Zulum, in his response, appreciated President Tinubu’s visit and commended his leadership’s contributions to the government and people of Borno during the trying moments.
He assured the President that the state will not disappoint him and commended the Vice President, Minister of Agriculture, and NEMA for their contributions to the state and victims of the flood emergency.
The Shehu of Borno, in his remark, thanked President Tinubu for his concern and support, noting that Borno has been peaceful since 1904 until recent calamities. He appreciated the President for his timely visit and support to the state, and prayed for God’s guidance and protection.
