The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Shendam Chapter, has praised the Executive Chairman of Shendam Local Government Area, Hon. Kemi Nicholas Nshe, for his remarkable show of generosity during the Christmas season.
The commendation followed the distribution of over 1,000 bags of rice to Christian families, traditional rulers, youth groups, women organizations, and security agencies within the local government.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the Shendam VIP Lounge, the CAN Chairman, Rev. Francis Sani, described the initiative as unprecedented and a testament to inclusive governance.
He expressed gratitude to Hon. Nshe for his consistent efforts to foster unity and address the needs of the people, particularly during challenging economic times.
Rev. Sani noted, “The chairman has demonstrated exceptional leadership and compassion by ensuring that everyone, including religious bodies, traditional leaders, and security agencies, benefits from this initiative.
” On behalf of CAN, we sincerely appreciate this thoughtful gesture, which has brought relief and joy to many families this season. We pray for God’s blessings and guidance for him as he continues to lead with integrity.”
The CAN Chairman further applauded Hon. Nshe’s collaborative approach to governance, which he said has significantly contributed to the prevailing peace and unity in Shendam Local Government Area.
He called on Christians to support the administration through prayers and active community involvement, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to sustain the progress made so far.
In his remarks, Hon. Kemi Nshe explained that the distribution of over 1,000 bags of rice was part of his administration’s tradition of providing relief during festive periods.
He said the initiative targeted diverse groups, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), traditional councils, security agencies, and other community bodies, to ensure inclusivity and fairness.
“This initiative is not new; it has been a consistent part of my leadership since my first term in office.
“Providing food during festive seasons is a way of demonstrating care and commitment to the well-being of our people.
” This year, we made extra efforts to include security agencies in recognition of their critical role in maintaining peace and order.” Hon. Nshe stated.
Hon. Nshe emphasized that the distribution process was carefully organized to avoid chaos, with representatives from various groups coordinating the allocations.
He added that his administration remains committed to fostering peace and unity, which are essential for the development of the local government.
Representing the traditional council, Ciroman Alfred Shaldas, who stood in for His Royal Majesty, the Long Goemai of Shendam, commended Hon. Nshe for his consistent goodwill and dedication to the people. He described the gesture as timely and a reflection of the chairman’s unwavering commitment to the community.
“This act of generosity, especially during a season of unity and festivity, underscores the chairman’s deep connection with the people,” Shaldas said. “The traditional council fully supports his administration and will continue to collaborate in efforts to uplift Shendam Local Government Area.”
