Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Agency (SOZEA), has successfully distributed over 3,000 cows to more than 15,000 households in Sokoto, Kano, and Kaduna during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The agency’s chairman, Malam Lawal Maidoki, revealed that the initiative was made possible through the support of Darul Erkam Foundation, Sulaimaniyah, and Diversity Turkey.
Maidoki emphasized that the distribution of the Qurbani cows was done without any form of discrimination, ensuring that the gesture reached households regardless of political, religious, or tribal affiliations.
“We do not observe any discrimination as it’s devoid of political, religious or tribal affiliation,” he said.
The chairman expressed gratitude to the donors and partners, noting that despite facing challenges such as insecurity, which affected their initial target of slaughtering 4,000 cows, they managed to slaughter 3,000 cows at a cost of N1.75 billion.
“We express our deepest gratitude to Darul Erkam Foundation, Sulaimaniyah, and Diversity and the Government of Turkey for their generous support,” Maidoki said.
