Kaduna State government has confirmed that the North West zonal public hearing of the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review will hold in Kaduna on Saturday.
This hearing is part of the ongoing efforts to amend the 1999 Constitution and will cover the northern zones.
A statement issued on Friday by the Kaduna State Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, said the zonal hearing will take place at the conference hall of Hassan Usman Katsina House (State House) Kawo.
He said delegates from Kano, Jigawa, and Katsina States are expected to attend and make presentations at the event.
He added that Governor Uba Sani will be the chief host and will give the opening remarks, while the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yusuf Liman, will make a presentation on behalf of the state.
The government has extended an invitation to professional bodies, civil society organizations, labor unions, and the general public to attend the event and contribute to this important discussion.
“We call on professional bodies, civil society organisations, labour unions as well as the general public to grace the occasion and make inputs on this important epoch-making event,” the statement read.
