Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, set to resume on August 18, 2025 will hold in 811 centres made up of our 774 Local Government, 37 State and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) offices nationwide,
The exercise is scheduled to start from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) every week, with the exception of national public holidays.
It has also disclosed that it has received a total of 151 letters of intent from various associations seeking to register as political parties.
National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, said that online pre-registration would commence on Monday, August 18, while in-person registration will follow a week later on Monday, August 25, 2025.
He further noted that both processes will run concurrently for one year, ending on August 30, 2026.
According to him, the registration exercise will be conducted in 811 centres across the country.
Olumekun explained that the registration procedures for both online and in-person formats remain the same as those used during the 2022 exercise, with additional educational materials, including videos, expected to be released next week.
