Nigeria’s fourth-largest telecommunications operator, formerly known as 9mobile, has unveiled a new brand identity: T2.
This strategic move aims to revive the company’s market presence with a sharp focus on digital transformation and customer-centric services.
CEO Obafemi Banigbe announced the transformation into T2 during a launch event in Lagos.
Banigbe emphasized that this marks a significant shift in the company’s journey, emphasizing bold innovation, digital prowess, and a customer-first approach.
“This is not just a brand unveiling. It marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in our company’s history,” Banigbe said.
T2 is evolving into a cloud-native, data-driven, API-ready operator.
According to Banigbe, this transformation enables the company to deliver smarter, personalized services faster, empowering customers with tools and platforms that improve their lives.
“Becoming digital is not just a cliché. It means empowering customers with tools and platforms that improve their lives,” he explained.
According to him, the T2 brand embodies the traits necessary for success in today’s competitive telecom landscape: agility, resilience, and boldness.
Banigbe noted that the company acknowledges past challenges but leverages those lessons for a stronger comeback.
“We are not ashamed of our scars. Every setback prepared us for this resurgence. We have returned sharper and more focused,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to customers, shareholders, regulators, and partners for their continued support through tough times.
Banigbe reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering value, relevance, and innovation to all stakeholders.
With its rebranding, T2 signals it’s not playing catch-up but aiming to lead in Nigeria’s telecom industry.
“We are not playing catch-up. We are playing to win,” Banigbe declared.
T2’s focus on digital transformation and customer empowerment positions it to compete with industry giants while catering to Nigerians’ growing digital needs.
