
Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army Lokoja
Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade Lokoja has achieved significant victories in its ongoing Operation EGWUA A TITE II in Kogi State, aimed at curbing banditry and restoring peace.
According to the brigade’s spokesperson, Lt. Hassan Abdullahi, “a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Bala, along with five of his associates, was eliminated on September 5” during a fierce confrontation near Tunga.
The operation, launched on September 1, has led to multiple successes, including the neutralization of bandits and the rescue of kidnapped individuals across various communities.
Troops recovered significant items, including “five dane guns, one motorcycle, two mobile phones, and an AK-47 magazine with 20 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition,” Abdullahi stated.
These recoveries occurred during operations spanning Lokoja, Kabba-Bunu, and Yagba West Local Government Areas.
The Brigade Commander and Force Commander of Operation Accord III, Led by Brig.-Gen. Kasim Sidi, troops have maintained aggressive patrols and ambushes, dismantling bandit hideouts.
Abdullahi highlighted that “on September 2, an air combat mission in Ankomi targeted fleeing bandits, neutralizing several.”
Additionally, on September 3, operations in Aleke, Ungwan Soni, and Ungwan Nyaba resulted in the rescue of Mr. Pabo Suleiman and his two children.
Abdullahi emphasized the troops’ resolve, stating, “Operation EGWUA A TITE II remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate banditry and ensure safety in Kogi and its environs.”
