Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Tinubu for his decisive action in lifting the emergency rule in Rivers State, a move that has restored democratic governance and reinforced public trust in the President’s leadership.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the minister lauded Tinubu’s commitment to fostering peace and democratic values across Nigeria.
“The President has once again demonstrated his total commitment to peace and sustenance of democracy in the country,” Wike declared, emphasizing that Tinubu’s intervention was pivotal in stabilizing Rivers State.
During a recent address, President Tinubu announced the lifting of the emergency rule, stating that the decision was made to restore normalcy and empower the people of Rivers State to chart their democratic future.
Wike noted that this proactive step “saved the State” and has significantly boosted the confidence of Rivers residents in Tinubu’s leadership.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their steadfast support for the President, Wike commended their belief in Tinubu’s vision to steer Nigeria toward progress and development.
He urged all stakeholders in the state to unite for the collective good, emphasizing collaboration to drive growth and stability.
“From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress, and development,” Wike affirmed.
The minister also issued a stern warning to troublemakers and “fifth columnists” seeking to exploit crises for personal gain, urging them to steer clear of the state.
