In a string of coordinated operations across Kaduna State, the police have arrested three individuals suspected of running a child trafficking syndicate and a fourth accused of supplying drugs to armed bandits.
The arrests, confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, were the result of what authorities described as “credible intelligence” and ongoing surveillance aimed at disrupting organized criminal networks in the state.

Drug Supplier Nabbed with Millions Worth of Illicit Pills
On Monday around 4:00 p.m., officers from the Maraban Jos Division apprehended a man identified as Franklin Ozo, a resident of Danmagaji in Zaria. He was reportedly found with a large stash of Exol tablets, a prescription drug often abused by criminal elements for stamina and alertness.
> “Preliminary investigations suggest that the drugs were en route to Kidandan and Giwa, where they were intended for consumption by bandits,” said DSP Hassan.
“The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue to trace the wider distribution network.”

Three Arrested in Suspected Child Trafficking Ring
In another operation carried out on September 22, officers arrested Khadija Ibrahim in the Narayi area of Kaduna. She was reportedly found in possession of a young boy later identified only as Abdulmumin.
According to the police, further investigation led to the arrest of Daniel Samuel, also from Narayi, and Danjuma Makoshi, believed to be part of the same trafficking network. Their apprehension led officers to the rescue of another child, 5-year-old Ibrahim Bilyaminu, who had been taken from Gusau in Zamfara State.
> “Both children are safe and under police protection,” said DSP Hassan.
“Efforts are ongoing to dismantle the entire trafficking syndicate and bring every individual involved to justice.”

Illegal Firearm Seized in Giwa Village
In a separate incident, officers arrested Alhaji Sani, popularly known as “Dan Gude”, in Doka Ilu village, Giwa Local Government Area. Acting on a tip-off, detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit found him in possession of a fabricated AK-47 rifle, two live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and a magazine.
> “We are investigating the origin of the weapon and looking into any accomplices that may be linked to this case,” DSP Hassan added.

60 Cattle and 25 Sheep Recovered Without a Single Shot
In a show of effective community engagement, the police also recovered 60 rustled cattle and 25 sheep on Tuesday evening around 8:45 p.m. This success was attributed to a non-kinetic strategy spearheaded by Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad.
> “Through continued collaboration with local communities, we are seeing real results without relying solely on force,” Hassan noted.
“The livestock has since been returned to its rightful owner.”

Police Issue Stern Warning to Criminals
Commissioner Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s commitment to clamping down on drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and child exploitation.
> “Those involved in these heinous crimes should know that we are coming for them,” he warned. “There will be no hiding place for those who threaten the safety and dignity of our people.”
