
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has announced a major cabinet reshuffle alongside the creation of a new Ministry of Livestock Development, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across key sectors.
The development was made public on Saturday in Katsina through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed.
According to the statement, Alhaji Adnan Nahabu has been reassigned from the Ministry for Special Duties to take charge of the Ministry for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education. Similarly, Prof. Ahmad Muhammad-Bakori, formerly Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, will now head the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development.
Other changes include the redeployment of Alhaji Aliyu Lawal-Zakari from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Hajiya Zainab Musa-Musawa moves from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to oversee the Ministry of Special Duties.
The governor also approved the appointment of new commissioners: Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman-Jibia will now serve as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, while Alhaji Surajo Yazid-Abukur has been named Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
In addition, Hajiya Aisha Aminu, formerly the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs. Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar-Yar’adua, who previously held that position, has been reassigned as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services.
Also affected in the shake-up is Alhaji Isa Muhammad-Musa, who moves from the Ministry for Higher, Technical and Vocational Education to serve as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.
Kaula-Mohammed quoted Governor Radda as urging all appointees to remain steadfast in promoting the administration’s “Building Your Future Agenda” and to focus on delivering impactful service to the people of Katsina State.
He noted that the reshuffle, which takes immediate effect, is designed to “enhance coordination, deepen sectoral expertise, and accelerate the delivery of critical programmes across education, health, agriculture, youth development, women empowerment, and social welfare.”
Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to repositioning the state for greater efficiency and sustainable growth through strategic governance reforms.
