Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum
Borno State Government has warned the public to be on high alert following the discovery of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
In a statement issued from the Senior Technical Assistant on Print and Digital Communications to the Governor, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, described the account — created under the name “Engr Babagana Umara Zulum” — as a complete fake.
He stressed that the governor has no connection whatsoever with the page.

Bundi said the imposter account “is not, and has never been, the official or authorised social media account of the Governor.” He added that any posts, messages, or requests from the page are “entirely unauthorised and fraudulent.”
According to him, anyone who engages with the fake account does so at their own risk.
“The Office of the Governor, his media team or Borno State Government accepts no responsibility for any misinformation, losses, or damages incurred as a result of interaction with this impostor account,” the statement warned.
The government is urging the public, supporters, and well-wishers of Governor Zulum to ignore the fraudulent page and rely only on verified platforms for credible updates about the governor’s activities.
To help the public distinguish the real from the fake, Bundi shared the governor’s authentic Facebook channels, encouraging the public to follow only the verified pages for accurate information.
The official pages include:

– The Governor of Borno State: https://www.facebook.com/share/1BZ5YG6WCV/?mibextid=wwXIfr
The governor’s aide concluded with a firm reminder that the government remains committed to protecting the public from online impersonation and misinformation.
